Psychological Therapy and Counselling

Often times in life we may experience psychological stress that is rather normal for the circumstances thrown our way. Other times that stress can persist much longer than expected or even become disproportionate to the situation. Some even start to experience a reduced quality of life as a result of this persistent problem. Whether you suffer from mild, moderate, or severe psychological stress and distress seeking psychological interventions can be helpful.

Our approach to treatment and management of such problems involves an eclectic approach to assessment, therapy, and counselling that is evidence-based to address your needs. Specifically the therapies we typically utilise are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Therapy, and Solution-focused Brief Therapy. We will also equip you with the necessary education to best manage your own psychological wellbeing to hopefully not require future interventions as a relapse prevention measure.

Typically the problems we address through therapy and counselling are:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Suicide Ideation/Thoughts of Self-harm

  • Mental health concerns within neurodivergent people

The process aims to help people achieve a form of heightened focus where one can often realise changes within where traditional forms of talk therapy has not helped. Some of the problems we can use hypnotherapy to help the healing process include:

  • Stress disorders

  • Functional gut disorders (including Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

  • Addictive behaviours (including smoking, nail biting)

  • Pain management

  • Insomnia

  • Anxiety and phobias

  • Reactive depression

Hypnotherapy is often used in adjunct with other forms of therapy and interventions tailored to the person in order to more effectively help them address their concerns. If you are wondering if clinical hypnotherapy might be helpful to you, please contact us and we can discuss the matter further.
